Uzès
Uzès is an unspoilt medieval town in the Gard region of Languedoc-Rousillon. The town is characterised by lime-stone buildings, many dating from the 12th century, which have been carefully restored in recent years. The pedestrianised town centre is circled by a one-way "boulevard". The town is well supplied with interesting family-run shops and restaurants. There is a cinema, large open-air swimming pool, tennis courts, etc. The lively market on a Saturday takes over the whole town and is one of the best in the South of France.
